Thorne Harbour Health Mental Health Service


A specialist mental health service for lesbian, gay, bisexual, pansexual, transgender, non-binary and gender diverse, intersex, queer, and asexual community members experiencing mental illness and psychological distress aged 16 and above. The service provides peer support, brief intervention, clinical care coordination, counselling and structured psychological therapies. Staff have lived experience and/or extensive experience working with LGBTIQA+ people and offer a trauma-informed, sex-positive, gender and sexuality affirming service.

  • A referral form is also available on website https://thorneharbour.org/south-australia/mental-health-service/
  • Service accepts self-referrals and referrals from community services and health professionals.
  • A current Mental Health Treatment Plan is required for clinical care coordination and structured psychological therapies.
  • Telehealth appointments can be provided.
  • It is open from 9am to 5pm, Monday-Friday.
  • Afterhours appointments may be available by request.
  • Call the Head to Health Phone Line on 1800 595 212 from Monday to Friday 8:30-5:00pm
